Can the input fields in quizzes be changed or replaced?

Jul 11, 2012

Sorry if someone has already asked this before, but I can't seem to find a way to change the tick or radial buttons in quizzes.

I have found where to change the colour or style, but I'd like to be able to design my own and use icons or similar instead of the ticks and radial buttons that come in Storyline.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Nearly, but not quite!

When you create a new graded quiz (say, a multiple choice), the radial button to the left of the question can't be changed for anything else other than the radio fill, radio border and radio color. Or another design from the list supplied can be used.

What I'd like to do is to design my own radio buttons with different shapes and icons instead of the ones that come with Storyline.

I can make buttons with anything else and that's cool, but these radial ones escape me!

Thanks for your help!

Paco.

You can make any set of objects behave like radio buttons by using button sets. See the attached file for an example of this in action.

Start by creating an object with a selected state. Then copy this object several times to your stage. I added another object in the background of my group to give it a nice hover highlight. Button groups of grouped objects have a cool behavior that I'll get to in a minute.

BEFORE you group up your objects, select the main object you want to see the radio button effect applied to and right click > Button Set > select or create new. I created a set called customRadio.

Now group each of your object sets individually. We waited until now because you can't assign groups themselves to button groups only individual objects.

Once you've grouped up your objects, any objects that have built-in states like Hover, Select, etc. will all trigger off of the same mouse event. So even if you hover over a different part of the group, any part that's connected will reflect the change.
