Can you have 2 scenes on display at the same time?

Sep 18, 2015

Hi All,

I'm brand new to storyline 2, had used Captivate 5 for a few years but as a part time author of e-learning (updated company LMS to allow for mobile learning so Cap 5 redundant) needed to use something a lot more modern.  Have had the 2 day crash course in storyline and had a good rummage around here but can't seem to find the right answer:

I downloaded a working calculator in a storyline format, and have managed to successfully import that into my learning.

However it shows as a separate scene, so I am unable to allow my users to use it to answer questions.

I may be taking the wrong approach, but the idea is I have some simple maths to do when working our the answers to some tax questions, and wanted a calculator in the slide for them to use to do the sums with.

Can anybody point me in the right direction.

Ian

Gents, that's inspired.

I never knew about lightboxes so thank you very much.  I have got the lightbox set up, by following the Articulate tutorial to do so, and have successfully got the calculator showing up, however there is no red cross to close it down again.  Do I need to add a trigger within the scene for the calculator for the user to close it and return

Looks like you're getting a lot of assistance here Ian! In regards to the lightbox close button, you won't see it until you're previewing or viewing the published course - so no worries if you don't see it on the slide. Also the look/feel of the button and behavior of it can't be modified but you could always create your own custom lightbox.
