Hi Karen. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Can you give us a little more information about what happens? Does the recording window shut after 10 minutes, or do you see an error, or is the video just cut off after 10 minutes?

Also, can you confirm that you're working with a local project file, please?

If you are experiencing unexpected issues using Articulate software, here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.

  1. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  3. Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If the issue continues, please create a new, blank Storyline course. Try to record for longer than 10 minutes and let me know if you see a difference.

Thanks!

Karen Donald

Thanks Christine.

I opened new project, then record screen I then opened my powerepoint for the slides made sure my audio recording was on  and start to record my seaker  as he moved through his slides. After 9.59 minutes it said saving which it did but that was it. What it saved worked perfecly sound vision etc it just won't do it for more thatn 10 minutes. I am working on my laptop  as I am recording at a remote site but this is also the primary computer I downlaoded articulate to.

Hi Karen,

Thanks very much for getting back to me. That is really odd behavior, can't say I've seen that before.

First, can you confirm you're running the latest version of Storyline? You can find this information by clicking on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline". If you're not running version 2 (1212.1412), please download and install Update 2 from the link below:

Articulate > Download Storyline Update 2

If that doesn't solve the problem, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in the article below:

Articulate Support > Unexpected behavior in Storyline

If you're still unable to pass 10 minutes in a screen recording, please go ahead and submit a support case with us:

Thanks, Karen!
