In a eLearning one of my colleagues created, in some slides there's a yellow background colour if you check it in preview, however the background colour of the slide is set to white and the player background colour is also white. I checked the slide master and that's a blank slide (and have reset it , just in case). Nothing helps... any other idea where that colour setting can be hidden ?
On the slide master try clicking 'hide background graphics' and see if that makes a difference. Else, check each of the layouts - other than that flying blind - sorry.

Hard to say Karen
can you share a couple of the slides?
Unfortunately the slide recordings are company confidential, so can't share them...

Thanks, tried that but didn't help... no worries, thank you so much for your effort in replying! If I find it in the end, I'll let you know :)
One of the great mysteries of the world - good luck!
