Captions Font is Fuzzy

Hey there, our developer group just recently upgraded to Storyline2 and we're seeing a problem where the font text in the Captions area of the player window is fuzzy. The font in the Outline and Resources section is clear and sharp, but these are not. We're using the default Articulate 9pt. We haven't seen anything specific to this issue yet in the forums. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Wade

I usually use a larger font and bold it, but I did find that the default text in a caption appears to have shading/shadow with it and it did give a blurry appearance. So I click on the eraser icon next to the font type and that gets rid of the shading/shadow. You can try that and see if it improves.
Hi Wage, check to see if this icon is enabled
Hi Wade,
It looks like Michele's solution works - so please let us know if you need any other help!
Thanks for your suggestions. However, we don't have a shadow on any of the caption text, so I don't think that's the issue. The fuzziness does NOT happen in the Outline tab, just the Captions tab as shown in the image in my original post.
We've been trying to figure it out and think it may be happening in those modules which were initially constructed in Storyline, then converted to Storyline2. Anyone else having problems with conversion?
Thanks,
Wade
Hi Wade,
Yes, it doesn't look like there is a shadow format applied - but when I used the actual eraser tool it seemed to make the text clearer or my eyes were playing tricks on me?
Hi everyone, Wade is a member of my team, and we are all experiencing this problem with all projects in Articulate Storyline 2. In the Player, the Menu text is crisp and clear, but the Notes text is noticeably blurry. The low text quality looks like the anti-aliasing is out of control. Ths phenomenon occurs in projects that are upgraded from Storyline 1 and in projects that are newly created in Storyline 2.
To demonstrate the issue more clearly, I created a project in Storyline 1 with identical slides that have a different 12-pt font in the Notes area. As you can see in this demo, the Menu and Notes text are both equally crisp and clear. I then opened that same exact project in Storyline 2, which automatically upgraded it. As you can see in this demo, the Notes text in the published output is noticeably blurry / fuzzy. I have also attached the Storyline 2 Project file.
Other things I've tried that had no effect:
I'm getting push-back from clients about this noticeable difference in the published output, so any help to get this resolved will be helpful.
And here is the Storyline 1 project file that I mentioned in my post above.
Hi Robert,
Sorry for delay - I missed the initial notification about this post. I see the difference you're referring to - and I've included a screenshot below of the top left is SL1 preview, top right is SL2 preview and then bottom are SL1 and SL2 (L to R). You can see there is a change in overall clarity or crispness within the Storyline notes panel in SL2 - but I don't think it looks different between the SL2 preview and publish. I will share it with our QA team to see if they can also weigh in on the issue and offer some additional insight, but at this time I don't have any additional information to share.
Are you and your team still experiencing this problem Wade? I noticed it today for the first time.
We are experiencing this issue in our office as well, except it's with Presenter and not Storyline. Upgraded to Update 7, the issue persists. It's unique to computers and not projects. Two different computers running the same version of Presenter, working from the same project files will yield different results. One produces blurry text, the other is fine.
I don't sense a rush to solve this issue so if anyone has an update on where/why this is occurring it would be appreciated.
Hi Greg!
Looks like Ashley responded to a similar post here.
Hi all,
I wanted to provide an update here, as Storyline 2 Update 8 was just released, and included a number of fixes which you can see in the release notes available here. The item you all may be particularly interested in is how it improved the quality of notes text in published output. You can download the latest update here, and after downloading and installing the latest update you’ll want to republish any existing content to ensure that the updates and fixes are applied.
