Change Next Button to Normal when States Keep Changing

May 12, 2017

Hello.  My customer wants the next button disabled until three items are selected on a base layer.  A visited item receives a changed state (a blue glow).

The customer only wants one item to have a blue glow at any time to reinforce which layer is being viewed.

Can anyone suggest how I can trigger the next button to change to a normal state after each of the 3 items have been selected (as they perpetually show 1 visited and 2 normal states)?

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi Chris

I don't have access to storyline at the moment but try this:

  1. Create a trigger to change state of next button when timeline starts on the slide.
  2. Select the three objects right click and select button set...this will ensure only one item can be in the selected state at any one time - so click button 1 =selected, click button 2 and button 1 should changed to visited state, click button 3 and buttons 1 and 2 should show in visited state.
  3. Create a trigger to change state of next button to normal when state of all objects are visited.

If that doesn't works you may need to use a variable - I'll be online later and will be able to check your .story file if no-one else chimes in.
