Change state if media is playing?

Jan 16, 2019

I have inserted a character, and created a state in which the character moves her mouth (by using a gif, in order to give the impression that she is talking).

I would like to change the state of the character to 'talking' when an audio is playing, and to go back to her normal state when the audio is not playing. Is there a way of doing this?

I am also very new to the use of variables, so if anybody could recommend me a good tutorial, it would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance for the help,

Hi Julia!

How does the audio play? Does it play automatically, or does it play when the learner clicks a button?

  • If it plays automatically, Yusuf's suggestion is the way to go!
  • If it plays when the user clicks a button, you could add a trigger to "change state of the character to talking when the user clicks the button."

If you need more help, you're always welcome to share a sample slide with us! Since this is a public forum, you may want to remove all proprietary information and share just the single slide.

The perfect trigger would be "change state of the character to talking when «media is playing".

But as this feature doesn't exist, I can try to do this manually with Yusuf's suggestion (although it means that I have to manually create triggers in every pause between audios).

Thanks a lot for your help!
