Change state of objects when accessing other slides with a disabled button

Sep 23, 2022

Hi. I would like to add a badge effect on top of the menu. I also have a disabled button that needs to be in a normal state when three buttons have been accessed. It seems like the disabled button is the one affecting it but it is important for it to be disabled until all three buttons are appearing.

Only two-star badges are showing as you can see from the screenshot. I would need some help.  I have attached the source file. Does anyone have an idea?

Here's what I'd do:

  • get rid of the change state triggers to visited since that happens automatically when the user clicks on something with a visited state
  • use the variables to change the state of the stars: change state of star to point when variable changes
  • Recommendation: instead of a lightbox slide, put the content on layers and then in layer properties use the dialogue feature. It's kind of like a lightbox effect but keeps the content in the slide area rather than over the entire player. You'll need a hide layer button. That, I think looks nicer than a lightbox slide.

I did a long-winded explanation video as I dug through the file if you want to watch it.

Wow. Thanks Tom. However, I lost some of the bits you were describing in the video at the end. Sorry about your computer. It could be the reason why the end was mute.

Something I have noticed still is that with the new technique you just showed. The gamma star is not showing until I have clicked on Complete Mission Report.

Are you saying its a thing of arranging them in a linear way because right now it is impossible forr me to move the triggers up
