Change text size in input fields

Feb 05, 2014

Hi, I'm really having some "minty" moments trying to get my first project done. I'm trying to change the input size of the text in my input fields on an interaction slide where the user must fill in fields. These by default are way too big and the text doesn't fit.

I've tried the previous suggestions of turning off the auto-fit, changing the font size property and then locking the field as suggested in a previous stream on this forum but it won't work for me.

I'm attaching my project. If anyone can point out the error I'm making, I will be extremely grateful!

Hi Wendy,

I took a look at your file, although I'm unclear what you'd like to change it to. When you drew the text entry fields, you're able to determine their width and height and could also resize them accordingly. As I looked at your file and typed text into one of the fields, it does not shrink the text, so if you keep typing in one box, eventually you won't be able to see all the text, is that what you're referring to?

If you could give me a better indication of what you'd like it to look like I can try to help!

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for your reply. I'm a little perplexed now. I've just tried it again, and like you it worked fine. However, when I went back to the original computer I created it on - which is a Windows 8 PC, the print entered was all extra large still, and overfills the text box very quickly. Could this be another Windows 8 glitch??

I'm concerned because if the students who will be using this have windows 8 will they be affected also, or will it operate better once the whole project has been published? Has anyone had any similar problems?
