Change the initial object of a state in timeline ? Bug ?

Jan 04, 2023

Hello,

A colleague of mine used a lot of pictures with text inside (to have better control to the design). Of course this is a nightmare for maintenance and accessibility. Now I have to change the text and I revert those pictures to Storyline shaped objects. But I stumbled upon a problem while doing so :

As those images have states (because they are answers to a quiz), when I replace them with a shape, the original image of the set of states is kept as the object, even if I delete the original image.

Thus, the object is not selectable anymore. Is there a way to change the initial object in a set of states ?

For now I'll recreate all the sets but I'd like to have a better option because this is time-consuming !!!

I had the same problem today and came here to the Articulate community for support. From another article/posted issue, I got the suggestion to check on the settings and make sure that “revert back to initial state” was not selected. I changed my settings and it seemed to make the problem go away, but I had to stop working on my file right after I quickly previewed the change. However, from the one preview I had time to do after making this change, it seemed like the problem was gone. I had shifted the image a few pixels but apparently that’s not safe to do once you add states, at least not if you use the revert to initial state setting.

Hope this helps!
