I know this is a bit aged but was thinking maybe this will help those who may come across the same question in the future. If I understand correctly, you wanted to include a dynamic character or object on your slide that changes into a different character or object using triggers?
What you can do here is to add a custom state to the object. This thread here should help you figure out how to do that. With the help of triggers, you can trigger an object to change to a different state (or into a different character in your case).
