Changing State not working....

May 27, 2020

On the title slide of my project there are 9 buttons each pertaining to a different subject.  When the user clicks on one of the buttons, they are taken to a series of slides about that subject.  I would like the color of the button(s) to change when the user clicks on that button.  I have an object trigger set up to change the state of button x to "visited" when the user clicks on button x.  The buttons initial color is blue, I have the visited state set to red.  There is also another trigger for that same button that would take them to another series of slides.  The change state trigger is listed before the jump to slide trigger on that object.  I also have the slide properties set to "Resume saved state" when revisiting.  Each time I preview the project, the color of that button doesn't change when I revisit the slide after clicking on it.  (On each slide of this project I have a "home" button that brings the user back to this title slide)  What am I missing?

ok..so after doing some more digging, buttons have states built in so I didn't need an additional trigger for that.  But, the button still wasn't changing color.  What I ended up doing was changing the trigger to "Jump to slide" when the user clicks the button with the added condition of "If the state of the button = selected"  This slowed it down enough I guess to actually change states before jumping to the slide...
