Character insertion Graphic error

Apr 28, 2013

I have just installed storyline on my new surface pro. When ever I try and insert a character the graphic is all distorted eg only half the head and body displayed. Example attached.Any ideas?

Thanks

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Shannon!

Not sure I'll be much help since this is on a Surface Pro, but hopefully we can find something that fixes this for you.

As Phil mentioned, you'll want to make sure you're using the correct DPI:

Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI

Also, have you tried using a different character? Have you adjusted the default Story size for your course?

It may also help to adjust your zoom level. If you're currently using anything higher or lower than 100%, please try setting your zoom to 100% and see if that helps.

I'm not sure if you've already checked, but you may also want to make sure you're working with local files only:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

Let us know if you see any improvement.

Thanks!

Christine
