There isn't an option to place the checkboxes or radio buttons on the right hand side of a question, although you could set this up if you made your own questions from scratch.
The alignment works with the text as well, so it does center as you have found. I know that we had a user share a possible solution here, but hopefully someone will be able to pop in and assist you here.

Is it possible to change a vertical alignment of the checkbox? By default, it seems to align center.
