Chrome vs. Default Android browser

Aug 07, 2013

I know that Articulate does not support Android but I need to find a way to make it work on Apple products as well as Android. It is a must. The content is working fine on all Apple products but when I test it on my Android I am running into some issues and I wanted to see if anyone else has been able to figure out how to make this work.

Using the default browser that comes with my Android, the program re-sizes for the most part  and I am able to hear the audio.

When try to play the same program in chrome on my Android, the program re-sizes perfectly but I am not getting any audio.

Is anyone else having this issue or has any else figured out how to fix this?

Thank you for your help.

Good Afternoon, Lindsay.

We don't officially support the Android side of the house.  Unfortunately, Android lacks support for a specific HTML5 WebAudio API that has been in place on the Apple side since the first version of iOS 6.

With that being said, the Android version of Google Chrome currently has the WebAudio API in beta. Once they've pushed that API to its release version, we may start testing content on that browser to see if we can officially support it on the Android side. Right now, there is a significant bug in this Google Chrome Beta that causes a delay of 3-5 seconds before any audio is played, which may indicate that Android isn't quite ready for HTML5 prime time.

Please let us know if you need anything else.  Thanks!
