Cleaner Way of Changing Feedback Text?

Jul 06, 2015

Is there a cleaner way to change the feedback text to include the selected option than what I'm doing?

On a multiple choice question, I set a variable "Answer" to the value of the selected option when the user clicks on that option. My feedback text on the incorrect slide layer is "%Answer% is incorrect."

Is there a cleaner way I can change the feedback text to include the selected answer? I was hoping there was some way to do it without having to manually create a trigger.

Thanks!

Scott,

You can change settings so feedback is offered "By Choice" instead of "By Question." That gives you the option to enter different feedback for each response. Of course, you'd still have to copy & paste the response text into the appropriate feedback to indicate that's what you want to use, so it's not necessarily cleaner/easier than using the trigger you described...

I was wondering why you wanted to use the exact text from the response in the feedback. The program will automatically indicate if an answer is correct or incorrect, and with the default feedback box, the selected answer is still (mostly) visible. So repeating the response in the feedback doesn't provide additional info, e.g., a helpful hint to steer the learner toward the right answer.

Good luck with the project!
