Closed Caption Translations (1 training in multiple Languages)

Apr 11, 2023

Hello Articulate Storyline Experts!

I work for a global company where we have people that speak a variety of languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese & Korean).

For these we typically have a training in English, and then subtitles in each of the variety of languages.

Is there a trick to creating 1 training with options to choose which language the Closed Captions should be? (Right now I'm creating each training first in English, then Copying the training & adding a different Language in the CC. Making 6 different files).

Or a trick to Exporting the Closed Captions typed in to be translated?

Any input is appreciated.

Hi. We've done some great work with Storyline and credit to the Articulate Team for reaching out and have an open dialogue with customers.

Is there an update on the language support for closed captions - there are threads within the forum where customers - have requested/asked for the functionality over 5 years ago?

With video/animation now being so integral to many workplaces and many organisations supporting multiple languages this is a level of functionality that is now becoming required with the L&D toolkit.

Thanks for reading,

Please also add my name to the request. Not only is my company a global entity but each of our locations employ a diverse population with first languages other than English. Having the ability to offer our in-house courses with the ability to change easily to their language would be a useful and inclusive tool.
