Closed Captions Removed when paused

Apr 15, 2019

Hello,

We are using Storyline and we have video clips we added Closed Captioning to, and the issue we have is that when the timeline is paused the closed captions are hidden until the timeline is resumed. A reason we added a pause button was to allow people to pause and read the closed captioning if additional time is needed. Is there a setting/ option/ way to make this work?

Hello Evan and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your course.

We had a previous issue that was corrected in Build 3.22.17236.0:

Fixed: Closed captions disappeared when a slide was paused, and sometimes they disappeared or overlapped when replaying a slide.

Do you know what version of Storyline you're using? We are currently on Build 3.26.18601.0 for Storyline 360. You can read all of the details here.

You can check by going to:

If you're on the latest update, then with your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
