I've created a project in Storyline 2 which includes several quizzes for learners to complete. Rather than scoring them, however, I'd like to collect their responses for assessment. Any tips on how/where this data is able to be collected? Thanks!
Typically this is handled by the LMS, and you can see the data that Storyline will report to your LMS here. We don't support reporting information to a text or database file, although you may find threads in the community where other users have shared methods they've created.
Any LMS that is compliant with SCORM, AICC, or Tin Can API will also provide accurate tracking capabilities. Here are some open-source LMS options that may meet your tracking needs:
Hope that helps to get you started! If you spend some time in the forums, you may be able to find other recommendations or information on what people prefer.
Hi Alyssa, I'm using Articulate Storyline2. I do have a result slide, however, I'm looking for collecting individual question/quiz responses to use for research. Also, the training module will be hosted on a private website not LMS. I appreciate your help.
Thanks for the further explanation of what you would like to accomplish as well as the software you are using.
The student response is sent to the LMS from Storyline 2 as you can see in this documentation.
It sounds like you need a custom solution to track in a text file or database and that is not something we could assist in supporting.
Hopefully, someone in the community will be able to chime in with some ideas for you to utilize.

Hi Ashley, thanks for the help! This may seem like a silly question, but how does one obtain an LMS? I see that there are a few different types.
Hi Carolyn,
Not a silly question at all! It'll depend on the LMS, but the majority of them I suspect you'll have to pay for.

Were you able to collect individual responses for each quiz or just the overall results? Is there any way to collect responses for each slide?
Hi Mohamed! Happy to point you in the right direction.
Are you using Articulate Online or another learning management system? Also, do you have a Result Slide after your quiz?
