Configuration data missing or incorrect - using WordPress

Nov 20, 2014

Hi all,

I am working on a presentation in WordPress but am coming up against these issues:

The presentation works locally.

Using the WordPress 'nice path' creates a download box but displays nothing in the lightbox but this happens whether it's in the lightbox or not - just using the URL in a new window does the same thing.

Using the full, direct path to the file shows an error message: Cannot launch content - configuration data is missing or incorrect. As above, pasting the URL into a new window does the same thing.

I have verified that all the files have been uploaded and I've tried making all the folder permissions 777 but that didn't help. Here is a link to our test course (why the site is just plain!) http://the-tma.org/build/courses/test-1/.

Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time! Rayna

Hi Rayna,

I'm not familiar with Wordpress, but did want to point you to some other threads where users discuss uploading to Wordpress such as this one. You may want to try posting in that thread too so that other Wordpress users see it.

Also, you may want to look at testing your content in another web server or LMS, such as SCORM Cloud to ensure everything is working as expected within the course. There are also a few free web servers you could try her.e

Hi,

Thanks, I really just feel like I'm going in circles. A demo course with similar settings worked on SCORM. I've been reading through a bunch of support forum stuff and everything keeps referring to the same articles and there is just something I'm not getting. I do believe it's the XML file. I've added in the server URL as recommended here: https://www.articulate.com/tincanapi/

I'm sure the software works but we are leaning toward not using it at this point. Do you have any other recommendations?

Hi Rayna!

If the content works as expected in SCORM Cloud, then the issue does not lie within the software and it becomes harder for us to assist.

Did you reach out in any of the other Wordpress threads as Ashley mentioned above?

Hopefully someone in the community that has some experience with this will be able to assist you.
