We have a new story that needs a scene from a previous story. Every time I try to copy/past or import the slides are distorted.
Is there a proper way to bring in old slides/scenes? Both stories have the same master slides. I would hate to loose all the edits, audio and recordings!
Thanks for the tip and this looks like it could be the issue. But, I have different dimension options on each story? On the first (1920X1080, 1280X720) and the second (1440X1080, 960x720) any idea on how to set these to the same when the drop down does not provide the options?
If you increase the slide size, choose one of these sizing options:
Scale to Fit: This scales existing slide content to fit proportionately within the new size. Objects that have locked aspect ratios will maintain their ratios. Objects that don't have locked aspect ratios may change shape, depending on the slide size you choose. (Learn more about locking aspect ratios.)
Fill Background: This keeps the current slide background and applies it to the new size, but it doesn't resize your slide content. If you choose this option, use the corresponding Story Position drop-down to choose where existing content should appear on your slides.
If you decrease the slide size, choose one of these sizing options:
Scale to Fit: This scales existing slide content to fit proportionately within the new size. Objects that have locked aspect ratios will maintain their ratios. Objects that don't have locked aspect ratios may change shape, depending on the slide size you choose. (Learn more about locking aspect ratios.)
Crop: This crops your content to fit within the new size. If you choose this option, the Next button will become active. Click Next to define the crop area for each slide in your project. Drag the green box to indicate the portion of each slide you want to keep.
I have tried both ways. Now, after changing the story size the re-imported slides are still not displaying correctly. I am also unable to review the imported scene.
YOW! OK I am cross-eyed now! I am trying to find out how to import a previously created scene ( created/saved in my "downloads" files). I merely want to take this saved scene and import it into a created SL2 project? Can you help? Thank you.

Hi Jacqueline
I had the same issue last year
It turned out the "Story Size" was different
I changed the size and worked fine
Hope your issue is as easy to fix

Hi Jacqueline,
Instead of copying/pasting can you try importing the slide in?
You can also look at changing the story size on a file, and determine how it'll behave based on what content is already there:

Hi Jacqueline,
Do you have a copy of this file you could share with us? I think that'll help to see what you're seeing and do a bit more troubleshooting around it.

Hello Branume and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
No need to be cross-eyed, but we can certainly help you out with importing those slides into another project.
Check out the documentation here and let us know how that works for you.
