Copying the list of checked boxes of the learner to another slide

Jul 16, 2013

Hi E-Learning Heroes,

I am trying to create a slide and still unsuccessful where I want the user/learner to listen to a call at the same time answer 5 questions about that call. The answer I was thinking of is a 1. a drop down option and 2. select all that apply option.

Example:

Question 1: What did you like about the call?

Answer: Insert drop down list

Question 2: What behavior/s did you observe during the call?

Answer: Insert select all that apply check boxes

I'm having difficulties on the following:

a) how to add check boxes or multiple check boxes to the slide

b) I want to have a new slide that shows what they answered on the previous slide

c) changing the state of a hidden button to normal once all the 5 questions have been answered

I would appreciate your thoughts and help on this dilemma I'm currently facing.

Hi Jerome,

I'm not sure how in-depth your project is, but you could create a multiple response question slide and insert your phone call directly on that slide. Then add a result slide, blank if you wish, after it with a trigger to review the results. That would allow the user to see how they answered as well as seeing what they got wrong or right.

Here are a few links that should be helpful:

Hi Jerome!

A. You can easily add check boxes via the Button button on the Insert tab

B. To display the selected answers from a previous screen you could use a variable for each of the questions to record what was selected and then display the appropriate answer on the next screen.

C. You can ensure that all 5 questions have been answered by adding conditions use AND logic that an answer has been selected for all of them.

Do you have anything you can share like a screenshot or an example of how you'd like to see it work? I think that would help us mock something up for you take a look at.

Hi Team,

Thanks for the reply, apologies for the late reply because we are so caught up on classes. Here is the screen shot of what I am trying to accomplish.

I wanted to select the answer from the dropdown list and have it displayed on another page. I'm not yet an advance user of Articulate though.

Here's a past forum discussion on how to create a drop-down menu in Storyline: Drop Down Menu in Storyline (it has a .story file you

can use to work from also). Additionally, here's a Screenr video on how to do it: How to Create an Easy Drop Down Menu in Storyline.

You will want to do two things differently:

1.) change the trigger from mouse over to when clicked

2.) Create a variable to record the value of the selection that is made.

I've attached a quick example. Does that look like it does what you want it to?
