Corruptions in Hindi and Thai, and text direction issue in Arabic

Hello! I'm localizing a course into various languages and we are experiencing issues with Hindi, Thai and Arabic.
For Hindi and Thai, there are corruptions appearing in one specific text box that's displaying the narration script after I render the course into Preview mode. I've tried changing fonts and font size, but it didn't work.
For Arabic, this same narration script text box does not display the Arabic text in correct direction.
This said text box includes a variable for the purpose of piping in different narration scripts for different slides.
I have Articulate Storyline 1 Update 7 running on Windows 7 Professional.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Lu,
Could you tell us a bit more about what you mean in terms of "corruptions"? I see you've highlighted elements on those images, but not knowing anything about the languages or characters, it's hard to identify what is occurring.
You will want to check into the RTL text settings for the Arabic text for the player as detailed here.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your response. What I mean by "corruptions" is that the text in Hindi and Thai does not display properly as they should be. The best example would be the 2 Hindi screen shots: The text in the narration script text boxs on the right should look exactly the same as the text on the center text box, but they display with the weird with the dotted circles randomly, which I highlighted.
For Arabic, the directional issue is not with the player itself; it's within the same narration script box where some words are still displaying in a left-to-right order.
Can you please let me know if there's a way for me to submit ticket for tech support? To protect client, I cannot share more than the screen shots on this forum. But I do have client's permission to share the .story files with tech support.
Many thanks!
Hi Lu,
Yes, it may be best to work through this with our support team as from the screenshots it's hard to figure it out. You can share your files with them here.
Thank you, Ashley! I've submitted the case with files.
Thanks Lu, and I see your case (# 00443398 for my reference) so I'll follow along as well.
Hi Ashley Hi i need some help actually i got some requirement from my client that when course running if a user click exit in middle of the course he should get pop up "Do you want to exit the course 'YES' 'NO' instide of getting direct exit the course and if user press YES he should stay on the course if user press NO course should get close. is this possible help me out from this. plzzzz...
Hi Gaddam,
There isn't a built in method for that prompt, but you could set that up using your own buttons and the "exit course" trigger. You'll find some information and examples linked within this post.
Hi Lu,
Just following up here as I see that Wilbert has tested this and reported it to our QA team. I don't have any additional information to share at this point, but he'll be in touch with you through your case as soon as he has an update.
Hi Ashley,
Sorry I didn't see your follow up message earlier.
Indeed Wilbert has shared his testing feedback with me. For now, we will take out the problematic functionality out of the course in these 3 languages.
It looks like we caught a real bug with these languages. Hopefully the QA team can develop a fix over time. Thanks again for your and Wilbert's help. :)
Thanks Lu - and we'll keep you posted on what our QA team is able to determine.

Hi Syed,
I just responded over here as well.
Hello Ashley. Has this corruption been resolved yet? I'm using Storyline 2 Update 7 and can also see some characters corruption as well. What I can identify is that characters become incorrect when using font size 15 or bigger. Please see attachment - the left part is how it looks in Storyline and the second one is a Preview window (same when published).
Hi Julia!
The issues reported here were related to variable references it seems. Is this the same thing you are experiencing?
Can you tell me what that screenshot is and what languages you are having the difficulty with?
Hi Leslie!
This is Hindi and this is just a regular text on the screen. The small hooks that are parts of the characters get way too big and strange when I use bigger font sizes. The issue is only visible in preview window and after publishing; text in Storyline is displayed correctly.
Hi Julia,
Thanks for sharing that additional information. I do see a different new issue that was reported to our team where Hindi font displayed wrong at fonts larger than 22 pt. Our team is investigating this one, and in the meantime a few workarounds shared were to use a smaller font size, when needing to use a larger font insert it as an image, or look at using a different font (Articulate vs. Arial unicode) although the font type can cause it to not look as good.
I'll include this thread in the report filed with our team so that we can update you here once there is any additional information to share.
Hi Ashley,
I believe I will simply use smaller font size for the course and maybe a couple screen-shots for some places. I hope you'll find some way to get it displayed properly.
Thanks Julia for the update - and glad you'll be able to use those workarounds as our team continues to investigate. Once we have additional information to share with you here we'll be certain to do so.
