Course not tracking for SOME students

Dec 04, 2012

LMS - Maestro5.0

Articulate Version - Storyline - Update 1:1208.1316

SCORM Version - 2004- tracking set to Passed/Incomplete - Tracking final Quiz result- (last quiz slide) [Quiz forces the user to redo the quiz if the answer is incorrect]

Course Details - A powerpoint presentation with video and navigation .

Expected Behavior - once an individual pages through all the content and quizzes, the LMS will record a Completed Status.

Actual Behavior - when someone pages through all the content, quizzes and exits the course, either by closing the window or using the exit button, the course pushes an "in progress" to our LMS (Maestro).

Any thoughts on how I can fix this issue?? Thanks in advance

I have a feeling the issue is connected to 'pop up window disabled'. Neither the LMS company or I have issues when we run the course.

Hi S,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Do you know if the students encountering this problem are using the same web browser, by any chance? If it's only happening with specific students, it may be related to how they're viewing the content. If so, it may be an issue of the LMS supporting that browser, or the version of the browser being used.

If you're able to find out what browser is being used, you should be able to communicate that to your LMS and see if they support it. If the students encountering this issue are not using the same browser, it may need further investigating.

Thanks!

Please check with your LMS provider to see if Internet Explorer 8 is supported with your version of their LMS.
You may also want to review the following article, which outlines common issues pertaining to viewing and tracking content in an LMS:

I'm curious to see what your LMS experiences if they try running the course in that version of Internet Explorer. Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks again!

Ahh, I apologize. i was not aware that you had already tested for that specific browser with your LMS. If you'd like, we can take a closer look at this. Please submit a support case with our tech team. If you can, just link to this forum thread, so our technical department can see what steps have already been taken to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks very much,

Christine
