Creating An Induction Record - Cumulative Completion

Nov 10, 2012

Hi All

I have just got started with Articulate Storyline and my first job is to create an induction checklist for new employees that can communicate with our LMS and obviously allow for tracking of completion rates.

The form will need to be accessed several times over the period of 12 weeks with the various elements being progressively completed until the checklist is 100% complete.

As far as I can tell using a survey is one option, however how do I make sure that when a user goes back to the checklist that the original information is still there?

Grateful for any guidance on whether or not the survey is the best route for what I have in mind and how can ensure that the existing entries remain when the checklist is accessed again and again?

Thank you in advance

Evan

Hi Evan and Sharon,

SNAP! exactly the same for me!  I just got Storyline today so will be undertaking the tutorials.

Initially, Will be giving the induction on a CD or USB so will organise the storyline project as a series of questions that they have to click the correct answer before being able to move onto the next part.

However, in a few months we hope to have uploaded this induction project onto our LMS - which will require individual login.  Then I can monitor who has done what and correct answers.

Does that help you with ideas? if you have started anyhow, lets keep in touch and share ideas!

cheers

Hi all,

I gave up trying to do this part in Storyline.  Our LMS is Moodle, so for the checklist part I installed the checklist plugin.  There are three parts; a checklist activity module, a block and a gradebook component.  It did exactly as I wanted. I could add items to a list, have people check them off as they complete them, and once all items are complete it writes to the gradebook.  I have the checklist sitting alongside my more comprehensive articulate scorm packages... but I'm happy with the outcome, it works perfectly.  I guess this doesn't help for those of you who don't use Moodle... but for those that do it's a great solution.  I hope this helps.

regards

Sharon
