Custom Tracking: LMS Reporting

I read through the article below trying to figure out if it's possible to gather a project that allows a learner to go through a training and mark the exact slide they have completed. Custom tracking seems to perhaps be an answer.

For example, if there are 12 options for the learner and they have to click on the one that applies to them. It would then trigger to jump to the corresponding slide and they would go through the questions/ interaction and complete. Is there some way to report that they completed slide "3 of 12?" And also mark complete on their LMS Transcript?

We are trying to record the learner's specific state requirements but don't want to create various course modules, instead, we'd like to put everything into one course and track their completion through some custom report.
