Here is an example of a slider where the track was made transparent and the thumb style was completely changed by filling it with a picture, using the steps Tony had listed: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl73_SL2/Wall/V1/story.html
Sorry I should have been more specific Is there a way to use your own CUSTONISED "Thumb Style" for a slider in SL2? So can the current Thumb Style be replaced with say an animated gif? that animate as the user drag it along the slider ?
Kind of an old thread but I'm working with SL3 and seem to be having a problem sizing the Slider Thumb separately from the slider bar. If I right click the image and size and position it seems to adjust the size of the entire Slider. I've seen posts where it says Drag the top yellow square up or down on the Thumb Slider but this doesn't seem to do anything.
I do have the yellow boxes but when I click and drag it only seems to drag the entire Slider to a new x,y position and doesn't resize the Thumb. I've tried with an imported image and with the Standard blue Slider and get the same result. Not sure what I'm missing.
Ok. Well I'm using SL 3 and I currently just have a blank file with one Slider on it and I still can't adjust the size. I can send it to you but I'm not sure if that will help really if you open it up in SL 360 but I will.
Do you know for sure this feature is supported in SL 3? Other than that I think I was prompted for an update recently so maybe I'll give that a try.

Hi Garry,
Also just in case you haven't seen it, here is the basic tutorial on using the sliders.

Can I import my own thumb sytle graphic into SL2?
Hi Garry,
Yes you could make it just about any image - have you seen the examples here?
Thanks Ashley - that's it. It there a tutorial how to change the "thumb style" graphics?
Hi Garry,
I don't believe it's covered in a tutorial, but there is a video here where Arlyn demonstrates how to customize sliders further.

Hey David!
Sorry that you ran into difficulty with this. Take a look at this quick Peek video where I've demonstrated the action for you to see if that helps :)
Just let me know if you need further assistance.
Hi David, sorry you're having trouble! Have a look at this video demo--do you have the same option to click and drag the yellow box?

Are you using SL 360?
Thanks!
I used SL3. Do you have a .story file we can take a look at?

Looks like it's a bug fix in the new update. Sorry for all the trouble, I should have thought of that being a possibility earlier.
Cheers!
Dave
I overlooked that myself :) Good catch David and glad that it's working for you now.
