In section 2 of my course, I have 7 slides. Storyline assigns numbering to all slides, so these slides are numbered 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc. When I changed the order of the slides, Storyline did not renumber them, so they appear in the menu as 2.2, 2.1, 2.4, 2.3, 2.7, 2.5, 2.6.
Storyline numbers the slide in the order they are placed. So just make sure you are cutting and pasting the slide after the correct slide.
For example if you want to move the slide no 2.2 to slide no 2.5 position, then just cut the slide no 2.2 and select slide no 2.4 and paste it over there. You will see that the slide no 2.2 has been re-numbered to slide no 2.5. Similar way you can rearrange the other slides and make sure that you change the linking of the slides, so that the flow of the course is not affected.
