Disable the retake of a quiz

Nov 17, 2020

Dear all,

I've set up a wordpress website with learndash + Uncanny  Tin Canny reporting + Articulate quizes.

The thing is, if someone took a quiz and they do not pass, they can easy refresh the browser and do the quiz again to get a higher score.

I've tried to disable the resume feature in Articulate. This is only working if people are on the same page, if they refresh the page, they can follow the quiz again.

I also used a variable which says, if someone visits the 1e slide, than they can;t view it again and go directly to the result page. Also in this case, if they refresh the page, they can access the quiz again.

Is there a way to prevent people to experience the quiz more than one time?

Thank you!

Hi Lauren,

I've been having the same issue here using Canvas and am quite surprised that Articulate would have a loophole this big where students could take an assessment, then turn around and take it again and have the points update the Canvas grade book even when the Canvas assignment was set to allowing only one attempt. I'm starting to question whether I'll be able to continue using Storyline at this rate.

Hi Ryan!

I appreciate you sharing this video! I understand your concerns, as it looks like the course shouldn't be launching again since the attempt is set to 1. I'm not familiar with the set up of Canvas, but our Support Engineers are. I'd recommend sharing your .story file with our Support Engineers. We'll let you know as soon as we receive the file and reply with our findings as soon as possible.

Hi J.D.,

I'd recommend to also reach out to our support engineers so we can take a closer look at your Storyline project file . We'll have more information to share with you after we finish with our tests. Our support engineers are familiar with how Storyline courses should behave in an LMS, so your case will be in good hands!
