Disable to next slide until all fields are filled

Oct 05, 2022

Hello,

Appreciate if you could help me with these ... there's two things which I want to do .. there's some posting about 7 yrs ago but that still not resolved yet.

1) Preventing learner from moving to next slide after clicking the Submit button. Learner must fill in their First Name, Last Name and Email address.

2) Preventing same learner from taking the course for the 2nd time after keying in their details.

I've attached the file for your reference ... thank you!

Hi Norhuda,

Thanks for reaching out!

For your first inquiry, you can disable this trigger to prevent your learners from moving on to the next slide without first entering values in your input boxes.

For your second inquiry, could you provide me with more information regarding your requirement? If you set the resume behavior of your course to 'Always resume' or 'Prompt to resume', then there's always going to be a chance that your learners will be returned to a slide that is positioned after Slide 1.1 Particulars after they resume.

Looking forward to your response!

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the reply. I've disabled the trigger that you've indicated but still doesn't move to next slide (after typing in my email) when I hit the submit button. *facepalm*

For the 2nd inquiry, what I'm looking for is, when learner is unable to attempt the course for the 2nd time (since he/she has failed on the 1st attempt) so learner is automatically been blocked (there could be a slide or a pop up box prompting  to see Training Manager eg.).

Thanks again ....

Hi Norhuda,

In the screenshot below, your triggers are referencing a variable called 'TextEntry3', but the three inputs that your learners need to fill up do not make use of this variable at any point in the slide.

Did you mean to use the variable 'LearnerEmail' for these triggers?

For the second inquiry, this sounds like something you can configure on an LMS. You should be able to set the course so that your learners can only take it once. I'd recommend reaching out to your LMS administrator to see if this is something your LMS supports.
