Disabling click sound when hovering

Oct 23, 2015

Hi

Storyline includes a mouse click sound in a screen recording when I scroll down. I want to disable the click sound but cannot find out how. The format tab will  not show as I can't select the mouse no matter what I do. I noticed that there was a discussion about this on the link below. Since the discussion took place nearly two years ago, has any solution come up which I can use?

Hi Soren!

Sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with this and you linked to the best discussion regarding this topic.

If you are unable to format the mouse as shared there, it looks as if your only other option is to modify your published output as Tracy shared in the same thread.

Hi, Soren -- Thanks for your question! Have you had an opportunity to review this information on How to Disable the  Mouse-Clicking Sound in Screenrecordings?

Do you want to turn off the clicking sounds for mouse events in screen recordings? Here's how:

  1. Record your screencast and insert it into your project as step-by-step slides.
  2. Go to a slide where there's a click event and select the mouse object on the slide.
  3. Go to the Mouse Tools—Format tab on the ribbon and click None
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all click events that you want to silence.
