Disabling next button not working when file is published

Aug 16, 2018

I have two slides where I have customized a next button to appear disabled when the timeline starts. The first slide includes a trigger where the Next button becomes Normal when a media video completes. The second slide includes a trigger where the Next button becomes visible when two objects are clicked on.

In the preview, the behavior works as expected however, when I publish the files, the Next buttons although they appear disabled can still be clicked on and the learner can progress to the next slide.

I'm currently using Storyline 2.

Can I please seek assistance as to why the behavior in the preview would be different from the published version?

Thanks

Welcome to the community, Miranda! I'd be happy to see if I can find the culprit here, and have a few questions to start:

  • Can I confirm that you're publishing the course to your local hard drive (typically the C: drive)?
  • Did you publish the course for Web, LMS, or something else?
  • Could you share your .story file with me, so I can run some tests in the same environment? You can attach it directly to a new reply here, or share it privately here.

I'll be here!
