I was wondering if anyone has experience in making screen recordings on which they some how managed to display or visualise what keyboard shortcuts they used?!
I am making e-learning courses a software product. I use a lot of step-by-step views. Unti now I have only used the Mouse to show users where to press or where to go in the menu's, but obviously user use a lot of shortcut keys as well.
I would like to be able to show learners which key combinations I use. All suggestions are very welcome!
Thanks. Yes, I know how to use markers or the captions which storyline creates as well.
I was kind of hoping someone would know a more automated way (or program) of showing some on screen hints that tell the viewer what you are doing. So for example when I press ctrl+c, an action the recording doesn't capture, a little pop up that shows/tells [press: ctrl+c].
Its an old question, I know, but I saw it only now.
I have written a slim little program called QiPress (http://aalaphah.in/qipress), which suits your requirements, and has loads of options. It comes in both Free non-commercial as well as Pro commercial version. In any case do let me know what you think of it.

Hey Chris!
How about placing markers throughout your recording that your viewers can roll over and click for more information, including which keystrokes to use?
Here's how to add and edit markers in Storyline.

Ahh, gotcha. I'll leave that one for the more creative and "codey" members of the community
Good luck with the project, Chris!
