Display name of object when hovering over the image
Sep 18, 2015
Hi all,
Using Storyline2 and I am trying to figure out a simple way to display the name of the picture when a user is hovering over the image with the mouse.
I have two icons, one for Home and one for Exit at the top of the course. I know they are probably self explanatory, but I would like to have text "Home Page" and "Exit Course" display when a user hovers over them with the mouse.
Is there a quick option to allow this to happen without creating layers? Can a trigger just read and display the name of the object when it is hovered over?
Thanks for the help,
Steve

Hi Steve,
You could add Hover states to each of the icons that has the desired text included in the state. I attached an example .story file.
Hope this helps!
Hi Steve,
Create a hover state for the object. Then edit the state so that the message you want is displayed when the person hovers over it.
Oops looks like Jackson beat me to it.
To answer your question, the trigger cannot read the name. You have to do it yourself.
Either a hover or a marker will work, but I vote with Cary and Jackson: use a hover.
Thanks for the quick responses guys! I'll give it a shot.
