Drag and Drop - enabling user to order items in front and behind each other

Dec 31, 2014

Not sure if this is possible but I am in the process of designing a drag and drop merchandising activity in a learning module in Storyline where the user has to drag items to create an attractive / eye catching display. It would be great if for example they could choose to put taller items behind smaller ones (and consequently unintentionally hide items if they don't order appropriately). As there will be about 25 items in 5 different categories that could be dragged to the finished 'table' it is difficult/impossible to set a defined order that would work for everyone (there is no 'correct answer' as such in this one).

Any help / suggestions at all would be really helpful (even if it is possible in different software that could be incorporated in the final module). Thanks. Louise.

Hello Louise, welcome to the community!

Hopefully others will chime in with design ideas, but as far as taller items being in the back, you can move them in order on your timeline so the smaller items are on top.

As far as hiding them when they are not ordered properly, you could use a trigger to change the state of the items to hidden if they are not in the correct drop spot.
