DRAG AND DROP error - Two objects drags in one DROP target

Apr 01, 2024

Hello everyone, i have a question. I am working in a question who is a DRAG AND DROP with two objects drags in one DROP target. I used a TILE option of align, but when i use more de one try and drag a object, appear a bug. The boxes act like one hit the other and throws the other object to another corner, leaving the boxes in a mess in the screen. Did anyone have this problem? Someone could help me? There is another possibility doing all the QUESTION out of the Form View?

(i am using the Storyline360)

Thanks for you time.

I do not think it is a bug.  The issue is related to the fact that you only want 2 items per drop area. The Drag and Drop will let you add more items than what will fit.  For your solution (without adding variables), a better option would be for the real drop locations to be individual hot spots overlayed on top of your visual drop areas and only allow one item per target.  You still may have some work to do if you want this to be a quiz question, if, for example, the results can be 1,2 or 2,1.  But as far as the drag-and-drop functionality to work.  I would recommend this as a possibility.  See attachment.

Hi, Ron, thanks so much for your quick answer and help. I tryed this before, but i really will need to do a version that accept the two ways of order in the three boxes. I may do that one by one.
The problem was almost solved using the TILE align, but is a problem only when, in the second try, you get any box and, if you hit another box, he throws the other object away. But is in the second or third try. I don't even get in the Box to drop. Some, something is happening in there anyway. I think that storyline is considering the outside as the inside of the TARGET, and using the colision issue anyway.

Thanks so much, i will try to do one by one too.

Sorry, i hit the report button for mistake. I am using the version v3.73.29904.0. And yes, i am working in a local hard drive.. but i tested with him published in the "360 ARTICULATE REVIEW" too. But this only happened in second and third attempts...

Again, thanks so much for the answer!

Good morning, friends! Your answers helped me alot.

1 - I upgrade again the STORYLINE and the major bug is fixed. The colision of the objects when i DRAG the objects are ok. The only problem in the project now is that, if the studant put 3 objects in the same box, they turn into a mess. There is a way to, if you drop more de 2 objects, send the extra back to the start spot?  (i sent a vídeo attached)

2 - I know that if is a ONE TO ONE drag and drop, you can chose "Allow only one item in each drop target", there is no way to "allow only two objects'?

Thanks again!
