I have created a drag and drop with 18 drag items and two drop targets. 5 of the drag items are 'trick questions' that do not belong in either of the drop targets. I tried making an invisible drop target, but if the students are cluey and recognise the 5 wrong answers, they won't move these drag items at all, and hence not trigger the invisible drop target even though they are sitting inside it.
Is there a way to set the drag item state to a particular drop target manually when the timeline starts?
Hi, Bec -- Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community! Perhaps it would be easier for others to chime in with ideas and advice if you were able to share your file. All you'd need to do is use the grey ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box and you can browse/upload from there.

Here is a sample that provides that option (among others).
Item 5 starts in the correct spot.
There is no provision for a regular DnD to recognize where an object is until the user moves it.
Thanks Walt! with 18 drag items it's going to be a nightmare of triggers, but at least it gets the job done.
Your feedback layers are really interesting to see as well - so thanks very much for that too.
Cheers,
Bec.
