Drag and drop - Limit drop zones?

Mar 14, 2024

Hi,

I'm building a drag and drop interaction of a robot. There are 7 drop zones (his head, neck, left arm, right arm, body, base and a lightbulb), and the corresponding body parts get revealed one at a time - the learner then drags and drops them onto the matching part on the robot.

All very easy, nothing too complex going on...however, there's nothing to stop the learner from dropping the head onto the body, for example.

Is there a way that I can lock down these drop zones so that only the corresponding piece can be dropped there? And if a wrong piece gets dropped there, it can just return to the start point.

I feel like I'm forgetting or missing something easy here!

Thanks :)

Hey Caroline,

The easiest way to do this would be to convert to a Freeform question - Drag and Drop.  This gives you access to the Drag and Drop Options, which allows you to activate that feature by checking a box.  You can remove the other "quiz" looking elements like feedback and submit if you want it to act like a normal slide.
