How to solve an issue with drop-down answers when you have similar answers for multiple options? For example, the question is related to validity of Certificates and there are four answers, two of which have same answer as 5 years. In a drop-down menu I can see two choices of 5 Years and I need to guess which one is correct...
I suggest you set up a free-form multiple-response question. Have the same set of responses (for example, 1-year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, and 5 years) for each item/certificate.
