If you're referring to a text entry field, yes. Sorta. Each text field, when created, is tied to a variable automatically. You can see the variable name in the trigger panel when you create the field. Changing this variable with a trigger will change the contents of the field.
If your talking about a text box (not editable) you can customize display dynamically by using %variableName% inline in the text field.
