Numbered List Alignment/Restarting at Different Number

I'm having a numbered list issue. If I create a numbered list in a single text box, the text aligned underneath the starting text. Like this...

1. Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text

But if I need to put several text boxes on the screen, in order to time the text entry to match the audio, it either starts numbering at "1" or  I have to use a text-only numbering in order to start at a later number. So, it looks like this...

2. Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text

The MS Office response would be to start a new numbered list and change the starting number to whatever you need, so "2" here. But this isn't office and I can't find any way to make my starting numbered list start at a different number.

Does anyone have any tips for how to fix this? Workarounds? Solutions?
