Edit Prompt User for Their Name Text Entry

Aug 04, 2023

Is there anyway I can edit what text initially appears within the text box for the Print Results "Prompt User for Their Name" option?
I'm having an issue where currently the word "undefined" is showing by default in mine when I publish and I would like it to be blank.

I have a colleague who published my storyline file and it is showing as blank for her. I just can't seem to figure out how to fix it on my end.

Hello Heather,

Happy to help!

You can delete the text that appears for the 'Text Entry' box in edit mode if you'd like your text entry input box to appear as blank:

If this isn't what you were looking for, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a look at what you currently have setup? We'll delete it when we're done!

Thank you for the reply Joe!

I actually know how to update the text in the text entry boxes you're showing. The one I'm having trouble with is specifically the one associated with the Print Results button on a review slide

I actually can't find any way to edit that text box within storyline. I'm attaching a project file that I just threw together.

When you view the results slide, you should see the word "Undefined" appear in the text entry box that prompts for a user name after clicking the Print Results button.

I would like this to appear blank.

Thanks again!

Hi Heather!

Thank you for the clarification and for sharing that sample file!

Testing the file on my end, I was able to reproduce the behavior you are experiencing (in Storyline version 3.78.30747.0 via Windows Parallels on a Mac M1) with the word 'Undefined' appearing in the Text Entry field. This is a bug that was introduced in the latest update of Storyline 360 (Build 3.78.30747.0).

Sorry for the inconvenience, but our team has begun looking into the issue. We'll update this discussion once the problem has been addressed!

Also, I've opened a support case on your behalf so our support engineers can investigate this further. In the meantime, as a workaround, we recommend rolling back to a previous version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.77.30587.0) where the bug will not be present.

For your reference, here's a closer look at how we tackle bugs.
