Editing a Step-by-Step Screencast Over Multiple Slides: Adding audio narration

Feb 26, 2018

I was wondering if anyone has ever recorded a step-by-step screencast in Articulate Storyline 3, and then added audio narration as individual audio clips to each slide (kind of like you could do in Captivate, and typically do in an Articulate Storyline file)? I read through instructions and tutorials on this site about recording and editing a step-by-step screencast / demonstration, but didn't see specific info about audio. We are using an outside vendor to do the voiceover / audio narration, and I was hoping we could still use his voice in the step-by-step screencast in the same way we import his audio files (1 audio file for 1 slide, per 1 step in the screencast). Please let me know if this is possible, or if Storyline doesn't have this capability. Thank you!

Hi Andrea!

You can certainly add audio to step-by-step screen recording slides!

Since the screen recording tool in Storyline doesn't automatically include audio for step-by-step slides, you'll want to first insert those slides without audio. Then insert individual audio clips on each step-by-step slide using this method.

Let me know if you have any questions about that!
