Editing capabilities in Storyline 3

Jan 18, 2018

I'm investigating upgrading from Storyline 2 to Storyline 3. I'm curious though about editing screen cast video's. Does SL3 allow for greater editing capabilities such as cutting out material from the middle of the video? Also, does it now allow for more global edits such as changing a shape and then applying that change to all the other objects of that type in the file? Captivate has had that capability for years and I haven't found anything really detailed about what changes there are from SL2 to SL3 other than the comparison chart comparing all the products but that's not very detailed. Thanks.

Hi Jesse,

To edit screen recordings inside Storyline you can use the features detailed here, and if you're using standard videos of a screen recording done outside of Storyline you may also be interested in the standard video editing here.

I'd also suggest starting a trial of Storyline 3 and taking a look at one of your files and how it behaves once updated. Not to worry, we'll create a back up copy of your Storyline 2 file so that you can always go back to the file as it was before you upgraded to Storyline 3.
