Editing published html5 and player css

I'm trying to edit the html5 and player.css output files but all I've been able to do is edit the body background.  Any other div's I try to add and edit don't show up.  Just for example:  Let's say you wanted to add a div to the bottom right corner of the browser window that contained a linked image.  If I try to do this, nothing appears.  Is there something in the code that could be preventing additional elements from being displayed?  Shouldn't you be able to style the browser display of a storyline output like you would style a webpage?
