Embedding code for Yammer post

Sep 11, 2015

Hi, everyone!

Wondering if anyone has experience embedding code that would auto-populate a Yammer post ...

I received the code from one of our programmers (see below), but I'm not sure how / where to put that in Storyline to make it link out to Yammer and populate the post. Here are the instructions I received:

Place this code where you want the button to appear on the page:

 <div id="yj-share-button"></div>

 Then place this code just before the closing </body> tag on the same page. You can change the value of defaultMessage to say whatever you like.

 <script type="text/javascript" src="https://c64.assets-yammer.com/assets/platform_social_buttons.min.js"></script>

 <script type="text/javascript">yam.platform.yammerShare({

      defaultMessage: 'I watched this HR Video on Learning Zone!'

      });

</script>

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Leslie,

It used to be possible to embed code such as yammer embed codes or Paypal button embed codes using the Insert Video from Website option which is basically just a way of allowing html code into your Storyline page.  This is no longer possible with Storyline 2 as it obviously checks for correct syntax for embedded video and is very unforgiving which is a great pity.  Michael is right in saying that at the moment it's only possible to embed an html page so you now have to create the html file, place it on a server somewhere and then embed it onto your screen.  I understand that there is to be a new version of Storyline released soon.  Can you tell me if it will have provision for allowing embedded html beyond just video?  It would be very simple for your developers to include it as it would be essentially the Insert Video from Website code without the syntax checking.

Hi Gordon,

We are not able to share information in regards to a timeline of release dates or what features or fixes may be included in another version or update of Storyline. Not the answer you hoped for I'm sure - but you are encouraged to share your thoughts on new features here in the forums and in the form of a feature request here.
