I have received an error message several times today that looks like screenshot below. It reads, "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.." Could possibly be using the .story file I am trying to save. Nothing seems to work, and at this point a lot of effort will be lost if I just close. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Siva. It sounds like you're doing everything correctly, and you may have run into a corrupt file. I've got two things you can try:
There may still be a working version of your project in your temp files. Here's a quick Peek at how to find them.
If you don't see anything in your temp files, I would open a new Storyline file, save it to your local drive, then copy/paste the content from the old file to the new file.
File corruption can happen, even in the best software, and even if you’re following all the recommended best practices. To be ready if it happens again, follow these tips.
Thanks for reaching out, Craig! I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this error message.
Nice call on opening a support case, and I see my teammate, Chester, has reached out with the next steps! Be sure to follow his suggestions and let us know if you still need help!
