I've never seen this bug. This white screen with a red X mark appears when I try to enter text in Text Box. Is it from Storyline or something within my network?
Hello Emily - Does this issue occur in any project or just a particular one? You may want to import your slides into a new project to see if this alleviates the issue. If Articulate Storyline as a whole isn't working properly, a simple repair usually fixes the problem.
If you continue to have difficulty, I would encourage you to work with our support team here to see if there is anything telling showing up in logs perhaps. Just let me know if you decide to go that route and I'll follow along as well.

I've seen this when I've had too many windows open and using too many system resources.
Try closing some windows and see how you go.

I still receive this error message even though I have only one window open... Can't preview...
