Exit Animations not working correctly

I am making an interaction where I am hiding an object after it has been dropped on an object or hotspot. I have done this many times before. However, now the draggable object just fades out at the end of the timeline even though I have the object set to "show to the end." It should not fade out because I have not hidden it either by using a trigger, or by not showing it to the end of the timeline. Don't get it. I have added another slide in the video to show how a button should hide the object and activate the fade but it just fades out. Not sure what is going on. See video.

Thanks. Look forward to hearing from Mathew. This is an important issue. Since, we need to be able to trigger an exit animation on objects with an action, as before, without it triggering automatically at the end of the timeline. I can't move forward on this interaction until it gets resolved.
