Exporting Quiz Variables

I know that articulate does not support js. How do I retrieve the quiz variables from the course to be used for external requirements like a cookie, sql or Google docs? Which file stores the variable and what is the file/folder name? Would I find it in story.js? We need to write some js and don't know where the variable should go. If we write the js, will that be placed in user.js?
